A PDF looks the same on any computer or phone, and whoever receives it cannot change it by accident. That is why resumes, letters and assignments are almost always sent as PDF, even if they are written in Word.

Step by step

  1. Go to "Word to PDF" on LeuPaPDF and choose the .docx file.
  2. Choose the paper size: A4 or Letter, whichever you used in Word.
  3. Press "Convert to PDF", check the preview and download.

What is kept

  • Headings, bold, italics and lists.
  • Simple tables and PNG or JPG images.
  • May change: headers and footers, uncommon fonts and layouts with text boxes or columns.

Tip: If the result must look identical to the original (for example, a design with many elements), Word can also save it as PDF from File → Save As → PDF. This tool is ideal when you do not have Word at hand or you are on your phone.

What about old .doc files?

The .doc format (from Word 2003 and earlier) cannot be read directly. Open it in Word, LibreOffice or Google Docs and save it as .docx; then convert it here.

Before sending it

Check that pages have not shifted and nothing is missing at the end. If the PDF is heavy because of images, run it through "Compress PDF". And if it is a document to sign, you can do it right away with "Sign PDF".
