Is the formatting kept?

The text is saved in reading order, with separate paragraphs and, if you want, a mark where each page starts. Bold, tables and images are not kept: for that use "PDF to Word".

Does it work with scanned PDFs?

Yes, with OCR turned on. The first time it downloads the language data and then recognizes the text on your device.

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. The file is processed inside your browser, on your device. Nobody else can see it and it is gone when you close the tab.
